Bangkok is a fabulous city, but traffic congestion varies from bad to appalling. The best way to get around Bangkok is by BTS Skytrain. This elevated metro system is air-conditioned, cheap, fast and frequent. Typically, a train arrives every couple of minutes.
The BTS Sala Daeng station in Silom is almost on top of the gay bars and clubs in Soi 2 and 4. From Sala Daeng it is just two stops to Siam, the central station, located in the heart of Bangkok’s shopping district. Virtually all our hotel recommendations are just a couple of minutes walk from a BTS station.
