Hanoi has a very small gay scene, partly because many gay Vietnamese avoid expressing their true identity. Hopefully, the rapid growth of Hanoi as a tourist destination and the increasing number of LGBT travellers will encourage the development of more gay businesses and gay community as a whole.

4 Star Winner
The oldest and best-known gay venue in Hanoi and perhaps the entire Vietnam. Bar GC gets quite busy at the weekend, attracting both locals, expats and tourists. There is a pool table but no dance floor.
Located near the popular Hoan Kiem Lake. The bar is relatively easy to find, although there are two streets sharing the same name.
Walk down Ngo Bao Khanh street, away from the lake. After 50 metres, turn right into a narrower Ngo Bao Khanh street. GC is about 50 metres down, on the right hand side. There is an illuminated sign above the doors.
