In more recent years, the hotel has had numerous famous guests including Bob Hope, Marlon Brando, Senator Robert Kennedy, Charlton Heston, John Wayne, Vice President Richard Nixon, Presidents Dwight Eisenhower and Lyndon B. A bit further away from the gay bars and clubs in Malate than our other hotel suggestions, but we think that the Peninsula still makes a great base from which to explore the city.
