The area has a fabulous range of hotels and guesthouses to suit all budgets, including many that are gay, gay-owned or specifically target the gay market. Our recommendations are sorted into two areas:
excluding hotels within the Paradise Complex
the gay center of Patong Town
All of these hotels are either within easy walking distance or a short tuk-tuk ride of both the gay beach and nightlife in Patong Town. Hotels within the Paradise Complex are listed in a separate section below.

Why this hotel: Next to the gay beach. Fabulous bar. Boutique luxury.
If you want to stay in the heart of Patong, then it is difficult to beat La Flora. The hotel is located next to the gay section of Patong beach and is just a 5-minute stroll to the bars and clubs in the Paradise Complex. If you need to pop back to your room for a little something during the day or night, it is no problem at all.
Opened in 2008, La Flora is a 5-star hotel offering stylish and surprisingly peaceful accommodation. The hotel features two private swimming pools, a gym and spa. The Surface Bar and Restaurant offers stunning sunset views and some of the best food in town. Member of the Small Luxury Hotels of The World group. Fabulous.

Why this hotel: Trendy design. Quiet location. Near the nightlife.
A luxury resort at the north end of Patong Beach. B-Lay Tong offers 123 spacious modern rooms and suites, all of which feature a king-sized bed, LCD TV, a minibar and balcony with a view over the sea or gardens. WiFi is available free of charge.
Style-wise, it’s all “funky Feng Shui” with plenty red for fire, blue for water, green for earth and yellow-gold for the wind (a few more and it would have been a full rainbow!). The resort has a raised pool overlooking the Andaman Sea, and the lobby bar is unbeatable for watching the sunset.
Location-wise, the hotel has one of the most peaceful locations in Patong, but it is still close enough to walk to the gay bars and clubs in the evening.

Why this hotel: Ocean views. Superb dining. Popular choice.
The Amari is one of the few ‘true’ beachfront hotels in Patong (the other notable hotel being more expensive La Flora). It is located on a headland at the south end of Patong bay. This means the Amari enjoys a peaceful location compared with hotels in Patong town. Many of the guest rooms, the pool terraces, restaurants and bars have fabulous ocean views. The resort also has its own private beach (although it’s not as sandy the rest of Patong Beach).
The contemporary Thai-styled rooms are spacious and well-equipped with king-sized beds, large LCD TV’s with satellite channels, minibar and tea & coffee making facilities. WiFi is available but chargeable. It is possible to walk to the gay beach and Paradise Complex but in reality you will want to use a tuk-tuk which will cost around 200 baht each way. You can expect great service.

Why this hotel: Best seller. Stylish. Near Paradise Complex & gay beach.
The Nap offers a refreshingly chic and very stylish option within easy reach of Patong’s gay beach and the Paradise Complex nightlife. Each of The Nap’s 86 rooms, suites (46+ m²) and 5 very spacious villas (106+m²) feature a daily refilled free minibar (coke, water, juice, etc.), tea and coffee making facilities, an LCD TV with cable channels, iPod dock and free WiFi. Some rooms have a private balcony and others have shared access to a private pool.
Nap’s excellent buffet breakfast is worth a special mention as it really is one of the benefits of staying here. The hotel’s main (non-chlorinated) pool has a sun terrace with loungers. There is a small gym and onsite spa. Overall a excellent value for money 4-star option in Patong that continues to be a popular choice with Travel Gay Asia visitors.

Why this hotel: Near the gay beach. Fabulous suites. Top-rated.
This resort complex is just a few steps away from the southern end of Patong Beach. The Holiday Inn offers comfortable rooms, a good buffet breakfast and great service. We particularly like the newer suites and villas in the Busakorn Wing which has its own pool and jacuzzi exclusively for Busakorn Wing guests.
The gay section of Patong Beach is just a 10-minute walk from the resort. The nightlife in the Paradise Complex is about a 15-minute walk (although there are always a huge number of pickup taxis available if you don’t want to walk). Very close to the excellent gay-owned Sea Hag Restaurant.

Why this hotel: Excellent value. Spacious rooms. Great location.
Location, value for money and service. This is why we have listed the Poppa Palace. Location – halfway between the Paradise Complex nightlife and the gay section of Patong Beach. Value for money – simply furnished, but 30-square meter rooms (or more) at great prices. Service – friendly and welcoming towards gay customers. WiFi is available but chargeable. The hotel only serves breakfast, but this is not surprising given the huge choice of restaurants in Patong.
