Why this hotel: Gay-popular Bungalow style. Excellent value.
Budget bungalows located on a white sandy beach (albeit the water is very shallow at this point along the beach). O.P. Bungalow is simply furnished but comfortable and clean. It has a very good Thai/Chinese restaurant that serves up tasty food all day long at very reasonable prices.
In the evening, the gay scene comes to you at O.P., with beach volleyball being played by local guys. The sport is taken very seriously and is fun to watch. The resort is within walking distance of the nightlife along Chaweng Beach road. No pool, no frills, but good service and low cost.
This area is located in the south Koh Samui, further down from the popular Chaweng Beach. It is generally quieter, with calmer waters and a more “chilled out” vibe at most of the resorts. Several luxury resorts can be found here.
