Naturally, Queen is a place where you’ll find lots of party queens.  Located at the centre of ‘Homo Hill’ between Always Homme and Trance, this vibrant bar turns into a super packed dance club on the weekends.

There are two stages, dance floor area, bar & lounge seating and a raise outdoor patio.  Sexy bartenders and dancers will keep you entertained.  Attracts locals and foreigners, 20-40.  Happy hour from 8-11pm.

Popular, homely gay bar on ‘Homo Hill’ with little touches of style.  Always Homme 올웨이즈옴므 serves an excellent range of cocktails, beer, wine, juices and coffee.  Gets busy on the weekend before/after clubbing hours.

The music is not too loud, and the staff are friendly and can speak English.  Attracts mostly tourists, expats and young local clientele.

From Exit 3 of Itaewon Station, walk to the next street and turn right.  Take the second left and walk halfway up the hill and look for the sign on the left.

SOHO is located opposite Queen bar.  Customers often go back and forth between the two venues.  The crowd is in their 20’s and 30’s – mixed and very international.

There are video screens, a stage for dancing, and a nice outdoor patio for socialising and smoking.  Music is mainly American hits & remixes with some Korean.

Open Thursday to Sunday, from 8pm until late.

Cover charge includes one drink.  Attracts a rather upscale local and foreign crowd.

Located right next to Soho and among many other gay venues on the Hill.

This large underground gay nightclub is complete with a stage and podium – perfect for all the dancing queens!

Music is a mix of techno, house and pop.  The place gets extremely busy after 1am.  Storage service is available at the laundry shop next to the club.  Open Friday and Saturday nights.

Located across the street from Pulse.  Take the subway to Itaewon Station and go out through Exit 2.  Look for Hollys Coffee.  Club Gray is just further down from Hollys Coffee.

Cool, funky gay lounge bar in Itaewon gay village with red interiors and light-reflecting disco balls.  Friendly and laid-back atmosphere.

Almaz (which means “diamond” in Arabic) is a nice place to socialise with friends before more late-night activities.

From Exit 3 of Itaewon Station, walk to the next street and turn right.  Take the next left and walk halfway up the hill and look for the sign on the right.

Small, intimate bar next to Always Homme.  The décor is bit brighter, with seating at the bar but no tables.  Unlike at most bars in the area, you can have a conversation here.  The bartenders are friendly.

Oz draws a more mature crowd.  Open Tuesday – Saturday, from 8pm until late.

This is one of the few gay bars outside of Itaewon where you’ll see some foreigners.  This stylish bar offers a cosy, relaxing atmosphere and can seat up to 45 people (large by Jongno standards).  A great place to have a drink alone or hang with friends.

Opened in 2005, Barcode was Jongno’s first “one-shot” gay bars where customers could order drinks without having to buy a snack.  The bar has a friendly atmosphere, reasonably priced drinks and English-speaking staff.

The crowd is in their 30’s and 40’s and some foreigners.  There’s free WiFi so you can use Grindr, SCRUFF, Jack’d, etc.

Local gay bar for bears, chubs and mature men, located on the second floor just off the main drag in Nagwon-dong neighborhood.  The space inside GQ isn’t large, but it has a casual vibe with TV screen, dart board and seats at the bar.

There is free WiFi, and if your iPhone runs out of battery, you can ask the bartenders to recharge it.

Poten 4/10 bar is a bit far from the rest of the gay venues in Jongno.  Still, it is worth the walk as their outdoor seating is superb.  You can get a great view of Jongno while sipping your cocktail.

The modern bar downstairs has a lot of cute bartenders.  Drink prices are slightly higher.  Poten also serves food if you’re hungry.

From Jongno 3-ga Station (종로 3 가) Exit 7, take a slight right and walk past the Family Mart.  Turnh right at GS 25, and Poten will be on your left, on the second floor.

Perhapsthe hottest dance club in Seoul, attracting a mix of businesspeople and trendy crowd, as well as gorgeous models on weekends.  Club Octagon features the best sound system in Korea, with two floors, two DJs, a massive VIP section and a pool.

The club is not exclusively gay, but it does not take too much “gaydar” to identify a fellow gay clubber.
