  1. One of the best, especially the guys.

“It surely stands as one of the world’s top venue of its kind. The recently closed one is still new and superb; the new one is even better. It is a place for fitness, fantasy and fun as intended for fit and attractive men. It has state-of-the-art facilities, attentive staffs and a large percentage of good looking guys. The events are enjoyable and creative. It is also quite easy to find. However, the price is premium as well.

    The followings might be improved.
    – The pillows are too flat.
    – Blankets can be added.
    – The bathroom’s floor is now too coarse. It hurts feet.
    – The shower knob is too difficult to turn off.
    – Lube should be provided in a little pack too.
    – The big dim red-light room is the best spot to have fun. The brightness is already good. Guests usually have action there as usual, so the gym party might need a bit brighter light and move to the gym?
    – Sauna room is sometimes cold.
    – I prefer to use the stairs instead of the elevator to enter the facility. It is awkward to stand and wait in a public place letting everyone knows your status.
    – May add mirrors to some rooms?”

  2. No atmosphere, not sexy, expensive, disappointing

“Visited Aniki in October when pride event was on, Sunday afternoon/ evening. What a disappointment! Long queue (1 hr) to get in because only one person was selling tickets. Inside it is on 2 floors. Overall it feels like an industrial building that has had lots of rooms created from partitions and walls you might use to create toilets or similar. It has no real atmosphere and does not feel like a place you want to spend hours wandering around, relaxing and trying different areas. Well there’s not really much to try anyway.

On the first level there is a lounge area which is a bare room next to the entrance with a couple of large tables and seats in the middle, imagine a hospital dining room with two long tables, nothing on the walls, all white. No idea why you’d want to sit in there. There’s a big gym area. There are showers which are quite nice as you get a good view of guys showering through the glass. They have strange recesses in the walls with no signs or anything which seem to provide soap if you put your hand in although I saw several people who couldn’t work it out and put their towels in there.

Also on the first level is the steamroom. This is large, but either has no steam or suddenly too much steam. It’s quite bright and with no steam you can see the whole room easily. It has almost no corners or darker areas to play in. It’s just far too open and lacks a sense of excitement and was pretty empty anyway with maybe 6 or 10 people at any one time. Could have fitted 50 or more easily. There’s a dry sauna. Not many people bothered with that. Near the showers are maybe eight cubicles in a line (just like toilets) with glory holes in the walls – not sexy at all so not surprising nobody used them.

Going down one level on some big industrial metals stairs you reach the next floor. This has some special event rooms and lots of cabins. You can see over the top of the partitions that there are other areas not open yet as the partitions don’t go to the ceiling.

There was a special naked dark room event when I was there. This was a room that was square maybe 12m x 8m, quite bright and with a big mattress on the floor on one side. Just a big empty room, quite brightly lit, no corners or smaller areas to play – nothing else at all. Had maybe 50 guys in it and people were having a good time but could have been so much better. Also downstairs is the foam party room I guess – this was closed.

The cabins are small, not big enough to lie down in. Toilet cubical size although some seemed to be double units but then you had the metal structure going across the floor in the middle of the room. In side the room there’s some dispensers – no labels of course – lube and condoms.

There’s no jacuzzi or bath, pool or no darker rooms, no play areas or comfy areas to chill out in, no slings or stuff like that, no food available or drinks or bar apart from some vending machines, it’s just like a warehouse with temporary partitions put up – LITTLE ATMOSPHERE at all and just doesn’t feel sexy or exciting or a place to hang around in – huge but not really interesting despite there being some cute guys and getting plenty of attention. It’s also expensive.

Someone spent a lot of money on this but totally got the concept wrong, sorry to say, by getting a company who designs office space to do the layout probably.

This is definitely NOT a Babylon Bangkok competitor and I don’t think I’d bother to go again.”

  3. Not at level of expectations !

“I went there on October Tuesday the 21st. Box for play are small: Non-sense to play with someone. Towels are small size and they smelt very bad when they are wet: unacceptable bad smell.
This sauna must quickly upgrade those two points otherwise technology investments don’t make sense. ”

  4. It definitely is a world of wonders

“Went to Aniki while they were still on running period on Saturday eve (23 August). The entrance fee is combined by a 1000 twd membership fee and 300 twd entrance fee. This might have changed after opening officialy but I’m not sure.

Now to the point – forget everything you know about gay saunas… this place is insane! Yes, the design is modern and the facilities are new and clean but that’s not the reason it’s the best sauna I’ve been. At that night, about 300 Taiwanese were in that sauna. Most of them were young (didn’t see anyone over 45), half of them were muscular. It felt to me like a candy store where I could take everything I want. Electronic music on the background which I really liked. Originally, I wanted to be there 2 hours and to rest after before my flight. What really happened is that I left the place at 7am directly to pack and go. That was the BEST sauna night I had ever. I highly recommend it. I hope I’m not building up too much expectations regarding that place but anyway that was my experience.”

  5. Our underwear was stolen and management didn't care

“I went to Aniki with a couple friends. Most guys there walk around in their underwear. There are shelves outside the steam room to put your towel and underwear when you go in. During our time at Aniki, ALL of our underwear was periodically stolen while we went in and out of the steam room.

We told management about what happened and they didn’t seem concerned. They weren’t surprised and acted like this happens all the time. They offered an apology and that was it. My Andrew Christian underwear is worth way more than the admission price. Management treats customers and their property poorly, so I won’t be coming back.”

  7. Shifting in June 2014

“Aniki will be shifting to a new venue in June. Was there in mid-Jan and though I agree that the facilities have deteriorated, the guys were still good. They’re undergoing a lawsuit with the landlord so that resulted in the lack of hot water for the tubs and showers. Let’s just hope for better facilities and guys at their new place come June.”

  9. Gone downhill… FAST!

“I wrote a review on Aug. 22 and went back in early January. Aniki has deteriorated badly in those few months. Not only has the entrance changed, but so much needs fixing. All three hot pools/jacuzzis were empty and out of order. Most of the showers don’t work and the ones that don’t have hot water. Until everything is fixed, Aniki needs to bring their entrance fees down.

Speaking of money grabs, skip the Cool Party on the first Saturday of every month. Is there supposed to be a live DJ? The music is no better than getting streaming dance music off of Pandora. And who goes to Aniki for the “light show”? Aniki seriously needs to dump this theme night for something more sexual. 800TWD is too much for crappy music and lights.”

  10. Definitely not the best in Asia

“First, after changing the entrance, they need to post directions in English too at the old address. Not all of us can read Chinese. They really need to fix the showers as many don’t work and very often, there is no hot water.
The jacuzzi didn’t work several times I was there, they never bother to fix it.”

“1) Rude & unfriendly front desk receptionists 2) not a very clean – many broken shower heads 3) too many smokers in the hallway 4) no restaurant, no bar, no cafe. Your employees must be trained to be friendly and polite to all people! As you should know, those people pay you all the bills!”

  14. One of the best

“The best in Asia? Babylon in Bangkok, Hokuokan in Osaka and 24 Kaikan in Tokyo may have better claims for that title but Aniki won’t disappoint. Clean and well-equipped facilities with an active darkroom and lots of private cabins, You can probably spend a few days here without having to exit! If fit young Asians are your thing, you’ll find them here.”
