A pleasant experience
“I had a late flight today (16 Mar 2015), so after I checked out from the hotel, I decided to pay Baantewa a visit – My maiden one to the place, since I had some time to spare.
I took a taxi from Chong Nongsi, and paid about 60 Baht for the ride. I was able to locate Baantewa after about 20 mins. Question: why do taxi drivers in Bangkok not drop you off at the doorstep of your destination? Anyway, back to my experience.
The reception area was nothing fantastic – the decor and couch and chairs looked pretty sorry for themselves, but at least, I was greeted with a brilliant smile by the person at the reception counter. He was tall, muscular, and had a lovely smile.
He told me to sit down on the couch, and brought me 2 things: a photo album of the masseurs, and a signboard with the fees of services provided. Flipping through the album, a guy caught my eye. His picture was on the last page of the album, and his name was Sun. When I pointed out my choice of masseur to him, his response: “Me?” I was taken aback slightly, as I had not realised that the guy at the reception counter was the one whose picture had caught my eye. He, I sensed, seemed a bit reluctant to be chosen by me; however, he soon recovered and asked me what I would like to have done.
I had read from Baantewa’s website that the Body Scrub and Aromatherapy Body Massage was 1200 Baht, which was also on the signboard, so I told Sun I would like that. He seemed uncomfortable, and finally told me that he can’t serve me for 2 hours, as he had an appointment soon. Not sure if that was true, or he just wanted to choose his customers. Anyways…
I then chose Max – I had seen his picture, and was not particularly taken with him; however, I had seen his name mentioned in previous reviews, so he was my second choice. Sun acknowledged my choice of Max, and disappeared, reappearing 10 seconds later, telling me that Max was also not available. Well… I asked who was available, and he brought this guy forward.
He was slightly muscular, and had a cute smile. His skin was fair and smooth, and his cologne appealed to me, so I agreed to be served by him. Upon enquiry, this guy was Toto, whose name had also appeared in previous reviews. I secretly heaved a sigh of relief – I wasn’t sure what kind of service I was going to get initially, and was relieved I at least got someone mentioned in a review.
He started with the scrub, which was almost a massage in itself. In the middle of the scrub, he excused himself, and came back bearing a tray with a glass of warm water, and a container of Halls candy. He said that the warm water would help soothe the tickle in my throat and the Halls candy would clear the blockage in my nose – I had been sniffing and coughing since the beginning of the scrub. I was impressed and touched. He had shown that at least, he was a kind and caring person. The scrub continued, and I nearly melted under the gentle and soothing movements of his hands.
The massage came afterwards. This time, he used more of his elbows. Slightly forceful massage, if you think you prefer that. Throughout the massage, I could hear him breathing heavily at intervals, which told me he was really putting in a lot of effort. I was not sure if a happy ending came with all massages at Baantewa, and was willing to forgo that because Toto made me feel so good during the scrub and massage. I did realise towards the end of the massage, however, it did.
It ended in a very happy ending for both of us. A 2-hour body scrub + aromatherapy body massage ended in 2 hours and 20 minutes.
Do pay the place a visit, and remember to ask for Toto. I will definitely go back.”

Angels and heaven do exist
“After Sun/Tawan massage was a failure, I went to this spa. No appointment and I was lucky to enjoy. Went for 1.5 hour Thai massage and done by Sun. Perfect pressure and strokes for me. Kept asking if I was OK. Also private shower. I accidentally left my cross necklace at the spa and they returned it.
Will definitely return.”

Best Two Hours!
“Was there today and was presented with two masseurs to choose from. Glad I picked my guys of choice and the entire experience was awesome. He started with some presses to get me relaxed and after 15 mins he started the bodyscrub. That lasted for a good 30 mins and then it’s oil massage. His strength is just nice and his baby smooth hands mixed with oil is heavenly as he slide them to ease away all the tension from the week. What made it all so special is his smile throughout the entire process. His name is Sun. And I almost touched paradise….”

“Dropped in at around 9pm, and had two masseuse to choose from. Tried going with the tip of one of the previous reviewers, and asked who gives the best massage, but the guy at the counter said that they are all well trained. In the end, I went with Max and didn’t regret it. He really did a great job at kneading my body from the back (and more). I’ll definitely be going back again before the end of my stay here.”

“Went with a friend in August. No selection of masseurs, although we went at 3:00 PM as they told would have more. Luckily the masseurs are good. Just one room has shower, the rest all need to share with others outside. Saw other guess just wrapped a towel walking around. Not bad, but others are better.”

Massage was ok, boy was awesome
“The guy Sun is the one to get. Very friendly, very sexy, speaks English! The welcome guy taking the orders at the front was like a zombie with no emotion but I guess that’s not important. Massage was good, I wish there was a bit more to the Thai massage part, but the pop massage was glorious.”

my favorite place in bangkok so far
“I’m an American living in Bangkok. I’ve been to most of the shops in town. I’ve had countless bad experiences – especially among the tourist-only ripoff shops around Silom area. Baan Tewa I picked at random one day because it’s close to my home. So easy to get to by BTS too. I have had great massages and great ‘finishing touches’ every time I’ve been there. I’ve been there about 6 times at least by now. One thing I’ve learned is the ALWAYS ask (at every shop!) three things: (1) Is he gay? (2) Is he ‘compatible’ with my preferred treatment? and (3) Which one gives the best trained massage? Many times (at other shops) you’ll get 1 or 2 of these items, but not all 3. For example, you find out he’s straight. To be clear, I’ve always found all three at Baan Tewa. See my star rating.”
