Umbria is located exactly halfway between Rome and Florence, easily reachable both by car and by train in about an hour, ideal for those who are staying in one of the two big cities and want to spend a day out of the chaos and immerse themselves in nature. The closest airport is Rome Fiumicino, which is about two hours away by car (90 - 180 minutes, depending on the area where you want to stay).
