Gyeongbokgung is the most famous palace in Korea. Built in the late 1300s, it has been destroyed and rebuilt numerous times. Walk around the pavilions and halls to appreciate Korean culture and its Confucian influence.

Get there : Gyeongbokgung (line 3, exit 5) and Gwanghwamun (line 5, exit 2) subway stations. Entrance:- 3,000 won. Closed on Tuesdays.

Insa-dong

Insa-dong is a melting pot of traditional Korean arts and crafts, paintings, ceramics and antiques as well as a number of contemporary art galleries. Prices can range from a few U.S. dollars to tens of thousands.

Get there : Anguk Station (line 3, exit 6)

Itaewon

Itaewon is an expat-friendly neighborhood near the main U.S. Army base where east and west cultures collide. Itaewon is filled with bars, clubs, restaurants and shops selling almost everything. Visit the bars & clubs on “Homo Hill”, Seoul’s gay village.

Get there : Itaewon Station (Line 6)

Myeongdong

Myeongdong is all about shopping. From the towering super stores (Migliore, Lotte Department, Avatar and High Harriet) to the little shops lining the side streets. There is an endless choice of restaurants and cafes, as well as enough cosmetics and skincare stores to cater to the needs of any beauty queen.

Get there : Myeongdong Station (Line 4)

Han River (Hangang)

The iconic Han River is one of the most beautiful sights in Seoul, cutting through the city center. Our favorite viewing locations are Cloud Cafe (구름카페) and Sunset Cafe (노을카페). These cafes offer the highest view of the Han River. Be sure to bring your camera to capture the sights while sipping a latte or champagne.

Get there : Dongjak Station (Line 4), Exit 1 (for Gureum), Exit 2 (for Noeul) – 3 minute walk.

Apgujeong

Apgujeong is the “Beverly Hills” of Seoul. Stylish district, complete with upscale designer label shops. Prices are steep, but if money is not an issue then this trendy area will prove to be a very welcoming experience. There are numerous aesthetic clinics. If you want a quick facial fix then look no further than Apgujeong!

Get there : Line 3 to Apgujeong Station and take a taxi. Fare will be around 2,000 won.
