Phuket Pride 2014

Phuket Pride is the largest and most successful LGBT event in Thailand.

First held in 1999, Phuket Pride has been an instant crowd pleaser with both tourists and locals, both gay and straight.

The highlight of this community charity fundraising partnership is Phuket’s Pride festival and parade.

The festival is supported by local gay businesses and recognized by the local government as an important tourism and cultural event.

The 2014 Phuket Pride took take place between Sunday 20th April and Sunday 27th April 2014 and raised over 300,000 baht for charity.

The main event was the Pride Parade (the largest of its kind in Thailand). Afterwards, the bars and clubs around Patong Beach and Paradise Complex become a large party scene that extends late into the night.

Sunday 20th  April

Pride Week Opening Pool Party @ CC’s Hideaway

Dance to great DJ’s, swim, enjoy two stunning cabaret shows and feast on  a special Pride buffet (350 Baht includes a donation to PLU/PRIDE charities). CC’s Hideaway is located  84/21 Patak Road Soi 10 Kata.

Entry fee is 100 Baht, which includes a drink. Free entry for all Thai’s, but excludes the free drink. Just turn up and pay on the door. 6pm to 11pm.

Monday 21st April

All Day Pool Competition

Kiss Bar & Sundowners (Soi Paradise, Patong) host a Pride pool competition from 11am.  Entry fee is 500 Baht per person. No charge for spectators, just turn up and cheer on your favorite person. Bar and food facilities available.

Tuesday 22nd  April

Gay Day Cruise to Raya Island

This Gay Day Cruise to Raya Island promises to be a day to remember. Relax on the secluded white powder-sand beach of Raya Yai Island, swim and snorkel in the crystal clear water. 1,200 Baht per person.

Wednesday 23rd April     

Beach Volleyball Tournament

The popular beach volleyball competition takes place in front of La Flora Hotel, Patong Beach.

A competition for teams of 5 people, All teams play each other on a point’s basis, leading to a final knockout. The entry fee is 250 Baht per person. Competition begins at 11:00am and is planned to finish by 6.00pm.

No charge for spectators (other than for beach chairs),so turn up and cheer on your favorite team. Bar and food facilities available. Spectators are encouraged to support these by not bringing their own refreshments.

Lounge 69 Pride Week Grand Opening

A brand new concept bar in Paradise, Lounge 69 has chosen Phuket Pride week for it’s official opening. Free to attend, a free buffet, a free welcome drink and a great show is promised. 10% of all bar income goes to PLU/Pride charities. 8pm to late.

Thursday 24th April

Gala Dinner @ Millennium Resort Hotel

A first for the PLU and Phuket Pride. The prestigious Millennium Resort Hotel in Patong hosts a gala dinner and cabaret show with guest Dj’s, entertainers and a Grand Charity Auction. The evening starts at 6pm for cocktails, dinner is at 7pm. Tickets include free nightclub entry for a Gala Dinner ‘after party’. Dress code is causal but fabulous.

Friday 25th April

Garland Party @ CC’s Hideaway

Due to Mayor elections all bars in Patong will close at 6pm. However, CC Hideway is in Kata and bars are open as normal.

CC Hideaway will hold elections for Mr Phuket Pride 2014.  There will be DJ’s, the pool for a swim, a giant balloon pop and more. A buffet will be available @ 350 Baht (which includes a donation to PLU/PRIDE charities).

The ticket price is 200 Baht, which will include a free drink, a free D.A.W. ticket and garland to give to your favorite Mr Phuket Pride 2014 contestant. Tickets on the door. Free for all Thai’s, but excludes the free drink. 4pm to 11pm.

Saturday 26th             

Sunset Beach Party @ Iguana Beach

Iguana beach is a private bay, 20 minutes drive from Patong. The party will have exclusive use of the beach. Swim, dance, eat and party along with guest Dj’s, performers, dancers, a sunset saxophonist and much more, whilst enjoying the beautiful Phuket sunset.

Ticket price is 900 Baht which includes a welcome drink, canapes and buffet BBQ. 5.30pm to 11.30pm.  Advance purchase ticket only. Email info@phuket-pride.org for information.

Tea Dance Street Party

A great way to spend your late afternoon and early evening. Music and shows from the bars, dancing and partying in the street and a BBQ from The Bistro Restaurant . Lounge 69 will host a big Charity Prize Draw. This event is free, although there is a charge for the BBQ.

All profits from Pride Week events are donated to PLU/PRIDE Charities.
