Founded in 2016, OUT BKK is a non-profit organisation in Bangkok that aims to raise awareness and provide a safe environment for the LGBTIQ+ community within Bangkok as well as in Thailand as a whole.

Through networking with local LGBT-friendly businesses and companies, the support group plans to carry out a variety of educational programs, initiatives, sustainable campaigns, discussions and recreational activities.

Bangkok Pride 2017 event, organised by OUT BKK, is scheduled to take place in November this year.

Need a new tattoo? While most tourists go to the popular Khaosan Road to get one, there is an excellent tattoo artist right in our neighbourhood. His name is Van – talented, friendly and his rates are reasonable.

His tattoo shop is located upstairs on Silom Soi 4, past Telephone Pub. Open every evening until late. Van does excellent ‘repair work’ and even creates a design for you – just make sure you know what you’re doing.

Super Rich offers very good exchange rates. You can check their current rates online. Most visitors from Europe or America will make big savings by exchanging cash in Thailand. Other Asian currencies are also offered.

First, the staff makes a photocopy of your passport. You will be then given a queue number. When your number is called, you can proceed to the assigned booth and complete your transaction.

Super Rich has many locations in Bangkok, conveniently at BTS skytrain stations including Siam, Chidlom, Asoke (business hours may vary). The main branch is near CentralWorld shopping mall. Other official exchange booths also offer decent rates.

The only place NOT to exchange cash is in a hotel. In any case, you will always need your passport.

Adam’s Love is a social media campaign by Thai Red Cross AIDS Research Centre to increase the awareness of HIV/AIDS among the MSM (men who have sex with men) in Thailand. Their website provides extensive information, entertainment, online counseling and expert advice for MSM community in Thailand and all over the world.

The project offers counseling on HIV/AIDS via videos, podcasts and forums, games and quizzes, engages celebrities to de-stigmatize MSM/HIV issues as well as encourages MSM to participate in online/offline competitions to win free prizes.

The website is linked to anonymous clinics that offer free HIV testing, medical consultation, medication and support services for people living with HIV/AIDS. Adam’s Love campaign also provides community-based peer educators and a mobile clinic, offering HIV testing and other STI screening at schools.
