Gay Bombay

Founded in September 1998, Gay Bombay is a self-evolving support group that aims to create a safe space for gay men, families and friends in Mumbai.

Over the years, Gay Bombay has organised hundreds of events for the LGBT community including parties, beach picnics, film festivals, parents meeting, trekking, cooking, speed dating brunches, special gatherings on topics such as HIV/AIDS, relationships, finances and more.

Now particularly well-known as the organisers of regular gay party nights – normally held at Liquid Lounge in South Mumbai. Check Gay Bombay’s website for news and events.

Humsafar Trust

Support group that has been advocating the rights and health of LGBT people in India since 1993. Humsafar operates a ‘drop-in’ centre  for those seeking advice and support.

Queer Azaadi Mumbai (Mumbai Pride)

Queer Azaadi Mumbai (QAM) is an annual gay Pride celebration (the largest in India) with colourful parade, taking place at the August Kranti Maidan to walk to Kennedy Bridge.

Started in 2008 and now in its 9th year,  QAM continues to fight for equal rights for the LGBT community. In 2016, Queer Azaadi took place on February 6th and saw saw an estimated 7,000 participants.
