  1. So expensive

“I think I was very expensive. I came to Aniki about 10.00 pm and this place have only 5 persons they charge 1000 NT.

I think you should charge follow by entrance time - example after 10.00PM discount 50%.“

    • Go elsewhere

“It is ridiculous and it is totally insane to go there instead of soi 13in on min shen east road 13, which has everything but much cheaper and brand new.“

  2. Aniki New Price policy

“Since the first day of the new year, it changes the price policy, which is buy one get one free.

It is better to cut down the price to five hundred NT dollars for foreigners otherwise it will be a place for mosquitoes and the money you collect is not good enough to pay staff there and other expenses.“

  3. Why can't get in by paying 200 NT$ as locals at 6:30 - 7:30?

“Special rates for locals only at 6:30-7:30, therefore at that period you will see over two hundred people coming in and most of them are young. For foreigners, you need to pay one thousand NT and give a phone number for being a member and then you can enjoy the special rate as well. Too much light in the steam room...and instead of offer so many discounts, why not just cut down the fee to five hundred NT dollars.“

  5. Felt compelled to write this

“Foreigner. First time at this club. Went on a Thursday and the place was PACKED. I always thought of myself as decent looking but Aniki made me feel otherwise. From the guy that checked me in to the first guy that came up to me in the sauna, I was already having a good time but when I went to the basement and, uh, that’s when it became quite the experience lol. I had to catch my breath LOL

Definitely a younger crowd so if you’re in your 20s and want to experience Taiwan’s finest I would DEFINITELY check this place out. I could see the experience being different if you’re maybe not younger/fit.

Went the following day again and because it was empty they gave me a coupon to come back. Still had fun and still got the coupon.“

  6. Raid at around 12am

“It was traumatic because of the raid. There were many police who came. They were courteous though and did not harrass patrons but still a traumatic experience. This did not happen in Singapore and Bangkok when I was in Cruise, Keybox or Babylon. I still have a few days left to stay but really I feel like going home already *sigh*. tourists should be warned not to go to bathhouses , sort of enter at your own risk or suffer the humiliation.“

  8. Not nude, no pool or jacuzzi

“I feel compelled to write this review as I had a terrible experience at Aniki WOW. I've gone to many gay saunas over the years in many different countries, and none had any patrons wearing their swimsuit or underwear while in the facilities. I saw on their calendar that Monday was a nude day, which was strange given my experience with gay saunas in general (as every day should be a nude day). That Monday was nude day was further reinforced by a sign as one enters the locker room.

I went with my partner and changed out of our clothes in the locker and went to shower. We saw another patron walk past in his swimsuit, which was the first sign something was awry. As we walked around the facility, EVERYONE was clothed in either their swimsuit or underwear (yes, one person was even wearing his ballooning boxers walking about). Normally I would have no issue if one person decides to keep his swimsuit on while everyone else is nude, but this was clearly not the case and my partner and I felt awkward being the only ones completely nude.

Anyway, we decided to scope out the facility and encountered a decent sauna but a mediocre steam room. We tried finding the jacuzzi and/or pool to no success. I asked management, and it turns out THEY DON'T HAVE A JACUZZI OR A POOL. What? How does a gay sauna not have a jacuzzi or a pool?

Fed up, I told the front desk I wanted a refund, of which I was denied. The manager explained it was a mistake indicating Monday was nude day, despite the additional signage before the locker room that it was nude day (which was then promptly removed). For $1000 NT (~$33 USD), this was NOT cheap and had neither a jacuzzi nor a pool, as one would expect as standard amenities in a gay sauna. I urge you to take your money elsewhere.“

    • Same issues

“Last year I went to Aniki on gym party, but then there is another party. I wrote it here and the staff responded that they have a different party... Almost like you advertised to sell chicken and when the customers paid, you gave them duck... They offered no apology. This issue must be fixed.

The sauna already empty with no customer, people will never return if the management keep looking down on customers. I was also there a few times before for nude night but the management was too lazy to enforce it. Please show some respect to customers as we are paying for your profit.“

  9. a bit disappointing

“Tried to use their gym but had to dial back on the intensity of my work out because NO VENTILATION seemed to exist in this underground venue. Both vending machines were broken so you have to prepare water in advance. Also some of the lockers were broken.“

  10. Aniki's breaking down

“I really have a high expectation from this boulevard but sadly it's kind of dissapointing.
While the facilities incl. gym are very high on standards, the venue itself only filled in by 20% of the max. capacities (17x20).
I've got 3 days pass for NT2000 and was there from Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

On Friday evening, there were only 20-30 ppl. Nice and decent looking. I've had fun in the steam room. Nights on 3am as i was reentered. It was nearly empty.

On Saturday evening, there were more ppl but only 50 max. The masks event was nice but not overwhelming. only about 1/5 of the designated room was filled in. Nights on 3 am empty as well.

On Sunday, this is the worse thing. Only 10-20 ppl most of the time. Crowds were bad too. Despite this should cattered the finest gym body guys, there were none to be seen.

I guess that Aniki won't be last longer, sadly. It was practically too big. We want more friction and more crowded place to hunt-. In Aniki you feel like going to the club with nearly empty crowds so its very frustrating if you want to hunt over someone descreetly as u always miss the targets.

Anyhow, another rival opened in January and should've been very popular among locals as they only cost about NT500.

I was visiting from Germany in my 30es, have a toned gym build and a decent face. I guess i had more grindr fun than in Aniki.“

    • Really??

“When I visited last year...on Saturday..there were lots of ppl... If it's true that Aniki is empty in weekend..then locals visit other new saunas these days....:( Actually, Aniki is too large and it's not comfortable for sleeping at night...and not easy to have a chance to make love..because of its shape of facilities....there are not enough rooms for resting in cozy's just too large and too cold at night...There are just tooo many separate private rooms...(I don't know why...). I prefer 24 Hekan style in Tokyo...there at least you can have a SLEEP...“

  11. Over rated, not worth NT800-1000, quiet!

“Went to Aniki on Thursday night, paid NT1000, extremely quiet with only 10-15 people. Ask reception why it was so quiet, he said weekend would be very busy. So come back on Saturday, again only 30-40 people, only 5-10% are acceptable looking, waste anther NT800. Don't be bother to go there, too expensive and not many attractive guys,“

  12. Expensive and Bears May Want to Skip

“I've visited many of the saunas in Taipei, so I thought I would give this one a try. Arrived around 8pm on the weekend. It is in the basement of the address listed. Once in the building take the elevator or stairs and walk downstairs. I am a white bear. I found the rules and orientation (I will call it) a bit tedious. You have to use a kiosk to pay, they have to show you how to use the RFID chip on your wristband to open locker, special rules about the towels, etc. Oh, and what they give you is not a towel. It is a large wash cloth. Again , not bear friendly. Once inside, it was unclear if you are to be naked or clothed. I followed what I saw others doing and ended up wearing my underwear. There were only ever about 35 guys and only a handful in the wee hours of the morning. There is no jacuzzi. I asked. There is no dark room or maze (two very common features in Taiwanese saunas). The sauna and steam room are huge, but the steam room was closed for more than half of my visit (for cleaning). I ended up going into one of the sleeping rooms on the lower-level and resting with the door open. Eventually, some guys came around. I had a little fun, but it is not worth paying 2-3 times more than I would at the other saunas in town. If are you fit, you would probably have an amazing time here. Bears, not so much. I will skip Aniki next time and spend my time at the others.“

  13. My experience

“I love the new location. It's very beautiful, clean and as always a friendly staff. I'm causation and form the US and i feel so safe there and welcomed. I also love the theme parties. I have met some wonderful guys there and we have become friends.“

  14. Expensive Overhype

“I arrived at Aniki Wow on an early Saturday evening. There was going to be a Lube Party as stated on their FB page starting 6pm. So everybody gathered at an event area cordoned off from the rest of the cruising space. You are required to go in naked. There is a staff stationed at the entrance to ensure that. I went in and saw a rectangular space where in the middle there was a inflatable pool filled with lube I suppose. The crowd builds up to about 30+ guys mostly standing against the wall covering their privates. You could see the eagerness but nobody really made any move. There was a bit of touching but most was not too keen because of the bright strobing disco lights. The only thing that happened [was between two guys]. They finally decided to stop when they realized that they were the only 2 people drawing attention in an otherwise event less room and soon everybody left and the Lube Party ended without anyone getting wet. I hate to see so much lube go to waste.“

    • Not like the old Aniki

“The old Aniki was fantastic when I first visited. I got shocked because they had the guts to invest money to offer a place like that in Taipei, Taiwan. People liked it from all over around the world because it was really something special in Taiwan, which was a must see.

New Aniki is totally a nightmare for people who don't like the gym equipment. I feel they don't know what people need and why people go there...spending so much money. Is there something wrong with the new Mayor? I don't feel they know how to play the game as before and also I guess for security issue sometimes lights are too bright. I like going there only one night, foam party.

They offer special rates for members only and I know it is a gym not a sauna because of avoiding some regulations and routine police check. I hope that someone could say something with them, like making steam room with steam all the time and making it a dark is an expensive place compared to other saunas in Paris, if you want to save money in utilities, just close no more business. No more funny sissy shows with no maturity...

I do hope the old Aniki could come back at somewhere in Taipei, the one now should have a talk with government or Mayor Ker, do they want tourist business or not or votes. Actually Taipei is not really a fun city with so many good looking educated guys, Taipei has potentials for being a hot spot for many westerners who come to Asia. It is very sad to see Aniki now and watch people go there and find no fun, just waste time and money.“

  15. Wow indeed!

“An improvement over the old location in some ways. It's more modern and well-maintained with a well-equipped gym. There doesn't appear to be a jacuzzi, though, and the private rooms are much smaller and impossible to stretch out in. It really should have food and drink services inside tho, although multiple entry is available for 16 hours with your wristband. The Lube Party was tamer than expected but there's something for everyone to enjoy.“
