Now allowing women

Gay men shouldn’t give this place any business. They are now hosting events that allow women to invade and colonise in what is supposed to be a safe space for gay men. Go to bodyline instead

Great Sauna, John Waters has an agenda.

Completely inaccurate and misinformation, Sydney Sauna hosted one queer event that ran for a total of 6 hours on the 22nd of March to celebrate Mardi Gra. This was the first ever all gender event hosted at the venue. It would appear John Waters is either misinformed, a banned patron, a competitor or advocate of, disgruntled ex-employee or just malicious in his intent. To celebrate the success of the event of the marginalized queer community Sydney Sauna will be again open its doors to the community to host another event on the 24th of April. From my discussions with management, they are looking at hosting an event quarterly which would still only equate to 4 x 6hr events, so a total of 24hours across 365 days that the queer community will have to enjoy Sydney finest gay and bisexual men's sauna. Hardly a colonization of the venue as per John's allegation. I have visited all 3 saunas in Sydney and I would suggest any visitors to Sydney do the same, all three offer something a little different

Second Rate

On arrival was asked for Photo ID, (I was paying the entrance fee by cash), no other gay sauna in Sydney has this requirement. However on checking their Website in small print under T&C it is listed as a requirement for entry. The same website also says they have free internet but no computer(s) for customers to use. Staff were professional. The place was lacking in the cleaning of the venue and felt & looked dirty. I stayed 3 hours and in that time one cubicle had rubbish on the mat and not cleaned in all that time. I will not be back. Sydney has better Gay Saunas to use

First time. It was okay, I guess.

First time to a bathhouse ever. I'm an Asian twink, not really sure there's a place for me. The sauna wasn't that packed, got to give a few oral sex but clients were mostly in their 50's and on the chubby side. I like bears but the average age was a bit too high for me. I went on Sunday at 12 but I couldn't help but wonder if the cheap admission would only attract certain people? Fairly nice facilities but too dark in places, I hesitated to make a move in case I got closer and ran into a geriatric. I wanted some advice before I went in from staff, but nope.. give me my money, here's the towel. Goodbye.

Excesive volumen in music plus unfriendly staff

I've been 6 times in the past 3 weeks, the venue is clean, rooms are comfortable, spa is wonderful. BUT, it seems difficult to the Manager to understand WHY customers go to a Gay Sauna?. Probably 99.7% to have FUN, others like to watch adult films, using the internet facilities, etc. But it's a GAY SAUNA, not a GAY DISCOTHEQUE, from a business point of view simply can not understand the need to play LOUD music. People cannot talk freely and haven't seen anybody dancing. Icing on the cake has been the DJ playing on Sundays at 1 pm, yes almost lunch time and using the ONLY area to have something to eat or a simple coffee. The music was already loud, now is louder. Went on Friday and almost nobody was there, I decided to leave losing my money and I went to 357. Wonderful and polite people at reception, small dressing area but who cares?, it's a GAY Sauna, rooms clean and a big variety, people nice and 5 times in numbers. Age of customers average 35 probably and they can enjoy and talk without suffering the Disco music. Don't you think you are doing something wrong at Sydney Sauna? And talking about manners, when the reception guys say hello to you, please feel lucky. If you have the bad luck of finding the "olive" skin guy at reception, rudeness will be guaranteed. But nothing has been done and every time they have less customers.

Good place to have fun with a medium and mature age audience.

Well organised in general, wonderful spa and good rooms, comfortable in general. Staff don't seem to know that we customers pay their salaries, with one ore two exceptions they are not willing to even say hello when you arrive. The music is too loud and has been mention to the staff endless times.

Wired

I was there two nights ago and out of the 15 people 8 yes 8 would have been wired - people talking incessantly and all over place - it’s getting worse. A truly disappointing experience.

Observation

The cleanliness was maintained throughout the day. At times, it got busier and customers need to be considerate; dispose used items properly, not just in this club but also in other public areas, eg. public toilets, buses, streets etc. There's a mix of guys and if there at the right time, the right guys will be there. Some times, when there're too many guys, nothing happens because everyone is going after everyone and cabins are occupied most of the time. As for the staff, I haven't had much contact with them (made payment at the reception and I'm on my own). Actually, it's beneficial to be friendly to any hospitality staff. When no one is in the club, they might tell you. I use this connection where ever I go and it works, eg. in the plane, restaurant etc.

Best facilities in Sydney - Why isn't it busier?

Sydney Steam has by far the best, most modern, fit out of anyone the Sydney sauna. However, the clientele still seems to be the older crowd from before it was upgraded. I'm not sure if it's not being marketed well, but I'm sure if more people knew about it a younger more diverse crowd would choose this sauna over the others.

clean new place, nice staff

The place is super nice, the staffs are also very nice as well. Too bad I only see old guys (60 up), there were about 20-30 people when i visit on Tue evening. All of them, and when i say "all" I wasn't joking, have age more than 60 up. Only 2 Asians guy that younger, one about 40 another could be 30 something but not very attractive. Try to pick a weekend, maybe the crowd is better.

Is the spa working and ablutions ?

Last time I was there only one toilet and shower no spa - -could not understand the guy at the front counter when I paid as to what was happening out the back then I'd realised my mistake and thought what a mess - --just tried calling the listed phone no it's been disconnected wtf - -if it's been a busy night refill the soap and replace the toilet paper ..... really... customers shouldn't need to ask....

Great venue with no customers, badly run

Ive been to this place a few times and its the same every time. Hardly any people, it stinks of smoke, the techno music is really loud and tonight the spa was cold. Usually the steam room doesn't work but there's always a problem. The dolt working on the front counter didn't tell me the spa wasn't working tonight before I went in. This is typical of the staff. Rude and disinterested gay guys who don't care. How anyone can have fun in an environment with loud techno music playing is beyond me. Don't waste your time or your money on this place.
